What I am feeling is...

angry, ashamed, bitter, confused, disgust, distress, embarrassed, exasperated, frightened, frustrated, guilty, hopeless, hostile, hurt, insecure, lost, mistrustful, newly upset at earlier life events, numb, overwhelmed, sad, stressed, uneasy, upset, vengeful, vulnerable, worried?...(other)?

Many people find it easier to get in contact with their needs by first of all identifying their feelings. For each of feeling you have you could identify what need of yours it is that is not being met?

There are also a range of feelings you can expect to have when your needs are satisfied:

confident, engaged, inspired, grateful, hopeful, joyful, peaceful, refreshed...

Perhaps you might write down (or cut and paste into a draft document?):

When I remember what happened I feel..... because I was needing .....
When I imagine satisfying my need for ..... I feel....
